In the midstream stage, resin manufacturers polymerize DCPD using acid catalysts and then hydrogenate or modify the resin to tailor softening point, color, and stability. Downstream, the resins are supplied to adhesive formulators, tire and rubber manufacturers, coatings producers, and ink manufacturers, where they function as tackifiers, adhesion promoters, and performance enhancers in industrial and consumer products.
