According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global Cavity Pressure Sensors market size was valued at US$ 64.90 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 84.25 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 3.9% during review period.
Cavity Pressure Sensor is a sensing device installed in or behind an injection mold cavity to measure the pressure generated by molten plastic during the filling, packing, holding and cooling stages of the molding cycle. It converts the mechanical force or pressure inside the cavity into an electrical signal, allowing manufacturers to monitor the actual molding conditions experienced by the part.
Cavity pressure sensors are generally divided into direct pressure sensors and indirect pressure sensors. Direct sensors contact the molten resin through a sensing diaphragm, while indirect sensors measure the force transmitted through an ejector pin, transfer pin or mold component.
Market Drivers
The growing demand for high-precision plastic components is a major driver of the mold cavity pressure sensor market. Automotive, medical device, electronics, optical and precision engineering applications require increasingly tight dimensional tolerances, stable part weight and low defect rates. Cavity pressure monitoring provides a more direct indication of product quality than machine-side parameters such as injection pressure or screw position.
The adoption of smart manufacturing and data-driven injection molding is also supporting market growth. Mold cavity pressure sensors generate real-time process data that can be integrated with molding machines, monitoring systems and manufacturing execution systems. This enables automatic quality inspection, process traceability, predictive maintenance and closed-loop control, reducing dependence on manual inspection.
Another important driver is the need to reduce scrap, rework and production downtime. Variations in resin viscosity, material moisture, mold temperature and machine conditions can cause short shots, flash, sink marks, voids and dimensional instability. By identifying abnormal cavity pressure curves during each molding cycle, manufacturers can detect defects earlier and stabilize production more quickly.
In addition, the expansion of electric vehicles, medical consumables, connectors, semiconductor-related components and miniature electronic products is increasing demand for multi-cavity molds and complex molded parts. These applications require better cavity-to-cavity balance and more reliable process validation, creating additional demand for compact, high-temperature-resistant and multi-channel cavity pressure sensing systems.
