Mold Cavity Pressure Sensor is a sensing device installed in or behind an injection mold cavity to measure the pressure generated by molten plastic during the filling, packing, holding and cooling stages of the molding cycle. It converts the mechanical force or pressure inside the cavity into an electrical signal, allowing manufacturers to monitor the actual molding conditions experienced by the part.
Mold cavity pressure sensors are generally divided into direct pressure sensors and indirect pressure sensors. Direct sensors contact the molten resin through a sensing diaphragm, while indirect sensors measure the force transmitted through an ejector pin, transfer pin or mold component.

The growing demand for high-precision plastic components is a major driver of the mold cavity pressure sensor market.
