It boasts an extremely high porosity (typically ranging from 90% to 99.8%), an extremely low density (which can be as low as 0.003g/cm³), and an extremely low thermal conductivity. With uniform particle size distribution and controllable structure, it is currently one of the solid materials with the lowest density and the best thermal insulation properties. The particle size of aerogel powder generally ranges from nanometers to micrometers, and this small size gives it a large specific surface area, typically several hundred to thousands of square meters per gram. Based on particle size, it can be classified into nanoscale and microscale categories; and based on hydrophilic properties, it can be divided into hydrophilic and hydrophobic types.
