An NEV eAxle (New Energy Vehicle electric axle) is an integrated drivetrain system that combines an electric motor, power electronics (inverter), and reduction gearbox into a compact unit mounted on the vehicle’s axle. Designed for electric and hybrid vehicles, the eAxle simplifies drivetrain architecture, reduces weight, and improves energy efficiency and space utilization.
By delivering high torque directly to the wheels without the need for a traditional transmission, NEV eAxles enhance acceleration, regenerative braking, and vehicle control. They can be configured for front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive layouts, and are critical for modern EV platforms seeking improved performance, efficiency, and packaging flexibility.
There are several kinds of NEV eAxle, Peak Output below 100kW, Peak Output between 100kW and 200kW and Peak Output above 200kW. Peak Output between 100kW and 200kW Axles is much popular in the EV eAxle, with 70.86% value market share in 2024.
First, the degree of integration of all-in-one electric drive assemblies is increasing. By integrating multiple components such as motors, electronic controls, and reducers, costs and weight can be reduced, and vehicle performance and flexibility can be improved.
