The supply chain begins upstream with metal powder production (gas atomization or plasma atomization of alloys by powder manufacturers), followed by plasma spray equipment and torch suppliers and coating material formulators that produce optimized powder feedstocks. Midstream, thermal spray service providers and OEM manufacturers apply the metallic plasma coatings using atmospheric plasma spray (APS), vacuum plasma spray (VPS), or controlled atmosphere plasma spray (CAPS) systems. Downstream, coated components are used across industries including aerospace (turbine components and thermal barrier bond coats), power generation (gas turbines), oil & gas equipment, automotive engine components, semiconductor processing equipment, and heavy industrial machinery, where durable surface performance is critical.
