According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global Liquid-phase Chloride Removal Adsorbent market size was valued at US$ 80.26 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 105 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 3.9% during review period.
Liquid-phase Chloride Removal Adsorbents are solid adsorbents loaded into fixed-bed reactors to remove hydrogen chloride and organic chlorides from liquid hydrocarbons. These products primarily utilize modified alumina, zinc oxide, molecular sieves, or composite metal oxides to immobilize chlorine impurities through chemical neutralization, chemisorption, and microporous adsorption. They are mainly used to treat LPG, naphtha, reformate, and aromatics unit feedstocks, thereby mitigating salt deposition, equipment corrosion, and downstream catalyst poisoning.
Upstream raw materials primarily include activated alumina, pseudo-boehmite, zinc oxide, molecular sieves, and composite metal oxides (such as those containing magnesium or calcium), alongside alkaline promoters, binders, pore-forming agents, and extrusion aids. Midstream production processes encompass carrier preparation, mixing or impregnation of active components, shaping (into spheres or extrudates), drying and calcination, screening, and chlorine capacity testing; key quality control parameters include pore structure, basic active sites, particle size, crush strength, and liquid-phase mass transfer performance. Downstream, these agents are primarily deployed in fixed-bed guard systems within refining and petrochemical units for the purification of LPG, naphtha, reformate, and aromatics feedstocks; spent products are typically replaced and disposed of as chlorine-containing industrial solid waste.
Global sales volume is projected to reach approximately 13,000 metric tons in 2025, driven primarily by the periodic replacement of agents in existing units and the expansion of refining and petrochemical capacity. Product prices generally range from $5,500 to $7,500 per metric ton, with industry gross margins typically falling between 25% and 38%.
