Also, PTFE heat shrink tubing has two shrink ratios 1.7:1 and 4:1, while FEP heat shrink tubing has only one shrink ratio 1.7:1. However, PTFE is opaque, which makes liquid in the tube hard to be observed. A feature of FEP-heat shrink tubing is transparency and light penetration, so FEP-heat shrink tubing is typically used in applications with low shrink temperature, greater flexibility, and higher requirements for light transmittance and lubrication. The demand for PTFE and FEP can’t be replaced by each other. Specific application of PTFE and FEP heat shrinkable connection tube are medical cotton swabs, disposable medical devices, orthopedic support frames, endoscopes, washable telescopic devices, etc.

For instance, in IV lines, GORE Media aids in the dissipation of these gas bubbles while retaining liquids that are under pressure.
