Enzymatically Treated Soy Protein is a high-digestibility plant protein feed ingredient produced mainly from dehulled, defatted soybean meal through enzymatic treatment that partially hydrolyzes proteins and reduces anti-nutritional factors. It is mainly used in piglet, chick, and aquaculture starter feeds where protein digestibility and gut tolerance are especially important. Public product materials show that its core value lies in reducing anti-nutritional factors (ANFs), improving digestibility and palatability, and partially replacing higher-cost proteins such as spray-dried plasma, fishmeal, or whey protein.
From the value-chain perspective, the upstream side mainly includes soybeans/soybean meal, dehulling and oil-extraction processing, protease and other enzyme preparations, heat-treatment and drying equipment, milling and screening equipment, packaging materials, and logistics systems. The downstream is concentrated in piglet feeds, creep feeds, early nursery diets, broiler starter feeds, layer chick feeds, aquaculture starter feeds, pet food, and some young-ruminant diets. In practical market terms, demand is driven less by bulk feed applications and more by premium animal-nutrition segments that require gut health support, low antigenicity, high digestibility, and better formulation consistency. As a result, sales are closely linked to premium young-animal feeds, high-protein aquafeeds, and substitution away from animal proteins.
