According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global UV Adhesive Oligomers and Monomers market size was valued at US$ 549 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 814 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 5.7% during review period.
In 2025, global sales volume for UV adhesive oligomers and monomers reached 106,000 metric tons, with an average price of $5,026 per ton.
Oligomers and monomers for UV adhesives are reactive raw materials used to formulate UV, UV-LED, or visible-light-curing adhesives; they participate in polymerization or cross-linking reactions under the influence of a photo-initiation system. Downstream products include pure light-curing adhesives as well as dual-curing adhesives (e.g., UV+thermal, UV+moisture, or UV+anaerobic).
UV oligomers (or prepolymers) typically possess relatively high molecular weights and two or more reactive functional groups. Serving as the primary resin in UV adhesives, they largely determine properties such as bond strength, flexibility, hardness, abrasion resistance, resistance to heat and humidity, chemical resistance, yellowing resistance, and curing shrinkage. UV monomers, which generally have lower molecular weights and are also known as reactive diluents, are primarily used to reduce oligomer viscosity and improve substrate wetting and application characteristics; they also participate in the curing reaction and become part of the final cross-linked network.
The core raw materials for UV adhesives include oligomers, reactive monomers, photoinitiators, and various additives. Typical composition ranges are: oligomers (20%–50%), monomers (5%–60%), photoinitiators (1%–10%), and additives (1%–10%). Regarding oligomers, epoxy acrylates are the most mainstream choice (accounting for approximately 82% of the light-curing market) due to abundant raw material supplies and low costs, though they face environmental concerns regarding BPA. Polyurethane acrylates involve raw materials such as isocyanates (IPDI, TDI, HDI), polyols (polyether, polyester, polycarbonate), and hydroxy acrylates; while their synthesis process is flexible, they entail the highest costs. Polyester acrylates rely on the reaction between polyols and organic acids (such as adipic acid or phthalic acid) and fall in the mid-range regarding cost. Regarding monomers, acrylate monomers (such as TMPTA, HDDA, and IBOA) serve as the primary reactive diluents; their prices are influenced by fluctuations in the costs of acrylic acid and alcohol-based raw materials. Although photoinitiators (such as TPO, 184, and 1173) are used in small quantities, their high unit prices significantly impact formulation costs. Overall, within the raw material cost structure, oligomers account for the largest share (particularly high-end aliphatic polyurethane acrylates), followed by monomers. Photoinitiators also represent a significant cost component due to their high unit prices, despite low dosage levels, while fillers (such as silica and calcium carbonate
