The midstream involves mixing, preforming, compression molding/injection vulcanization, trimming, post-vulcanization, and dimensional inspection; the downstream mainly targets high-temperature and highly corrosive sealing applications in oil and gas, chemical equipment, and other industries.
Global sales are projected to reach approximately 20 million units in 2025, with a mainstream ex-factory price of approximately US$2.5 per unit, and gross profit margins for major manufacturers ranging from approximately 30% to 45%.
Tetrafluoroethylene (TEFE) rubber O-rings are specialty seals requiring small-batch production, high performance, and strong verification. Growth primarily stems from upgrades in chemical plants to withstand high-temperature, highly corrosive media; increased requirements for acidic oil and gas conditions and RGD (Regenerative Thermal Discharge) applications; increased demand for clean, chemically resistant sealing materials in semiconductor and new energy equipment; and replacement opportunities arising from the higher failure risk of ordinary FKM (Fluorescent Knee Rubber) in strong alkali, amine, and hot water steam environments.
