Stimulated Raman Scattering Amplifier (SRS amplifier) ​​is a fiber amplification technology that achieves signal amplification based on the optical nonlinear effect - stimulated Raman scattering (SRS). Its working principle is to inject high-power pump light shorter than the signal wavelength into the optical fiber. When the pump light and the signal light interact in the optical fiber, part of the pump light energy is transferred to the signal light, thereby amplifying the signal. Unlike erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs), SRS amplifiers can provide gain in a more flexible band and can achieve distributed amplification in transmission optical fibers, reducing link noise and improving system performance. Stimulated Raman scattering amplifiers are widely used in high-end optical communication scenarios such as ultra-long-distance transmission, submarine optical cables, and large-capacity backbone networks. In particular, they play an increasingly important role in ultra-high-speed communication systems with rates of 400G/800G and above.
