According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global SAF Hydroisomerization Dewaxing Catalyst market size was valued at US$ 19.55 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 67.35 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 19.0% during review period.
SAF hydroisomerization dewaxing catalysts are fixed-bed bifunctional catalysts used in the hydro-upgrading section of sustainable aviation fuel production. They typically consist of a noble metal or sulfided metal hydrogenation component combined with an acidic support such as SAPO, ZSM, β-zeolite, or mesoporous molecular sieves. Their function is to selectively convert C8–C18 n-paraffins into iso-paraffins and perform controlled mild cracking after HEFA/HVO or Fischer-Tropsch wax hydroprocessing. This reduces the freezing point, cloud point, and pour point while minimizing naphtha, LPG, and gas by-products, thereby increasing SAF fractions or renewable diesel yield. The product's gross margin is approximately 43%.
Market demand primarily comes from HEFA-SPK units, renewable diesel units switching to SAF mode, and co-processing modifications of kerosene/diesel hydrotreating units. These catalysts are not generic dewaxing materials for lowering cloud points; they are core consumables that determine SAF freezing point, jet fuel fraction yield, and hydrogen efficiency.
The product volume is smaller than the overall hydrotreating catalyst market, but the per-unit catalyst loading value is high, and customer validation cycles are long. Suppliers are concentrated among technology licensors and catalyst system providers such as Topsoe, Honeywell UOP, Ketjen, BASF, Shell, ExxonMobil, Axens, and ART.
Growth over the next six years is expected along two lines: first, the addition or retrofit of HEFA projects, and second, existing renewable diesel assets increasing hydroisomerization/mild cracking capacity to achieve higher SAF premiums. Constraints include SAF production ramp-up schedules, feedstock costs such as waste oils and animal fats, and catalyst lifetime under high water, nitrogen, and phosphorus impurity conditions. Growth is expected to exceed that of conventional diesel and lubricating oil dewaxing catalysts, but it will be project-driven, with orders concentrated at new unit start-up, catalyst replacement cycles, and process license-linked procurement stages.
