The production process typically involves batch mixing, spray granulation, dry pressing or isostatic pressing, debinding, pre-machining, vacuum silicon infiltration, cylindrical grinding, and precision lapping of the sealing face. Downstream, mechanical seal manufacturers assemble these rings with mating rings (made of carbon-graphite, pressureless-sintered silicon carbide, or cemented carbide) along with springs, auxiliary seals, and metal housings to create complete mechanical seal assemblies, which are ultimately installed in rotating fluid equipment such as industrial pumps, reactors, and mixing machinery.
