They are installed at dead-end towers, angle towers, terminal structures and long-span sections to transfer tensile load into insulator strings and tower structures while reducing localized crushing, sheath damage, abrasion and stress concentration. Key upstream materials include aluminum-clad steel wire, galvanized steel wire, aluminum-alloy wire, stainless steel, ductile iron, zinc-aluminum anti-corrosion coatings, elastomeric inserts and high-strength fasteners. Main downstream applications include HV/EHV transmission lines, OPGW/ADSS utility communication routes, renewable-energy export lines, overhead insulated distribution lines, grid refurbishment and disaster-recovery projects.
