Normalizing is a widely used conventional metal heat treatment process, mainly applied to carbon steel, low-alloy steel, medium-alloy steel and cast steel workpieces.
The standard technical procedure: heat the workpiece uniformly to 30–50 ℃ above its complete austenitizing temperature (Ac₃ for hypoeutectoid steel, Accm for hypereutectoid steel), hold sufficient time to fully homogenize internal austenite microstructure, then take the part out of the furnace and cool it freely in still or slightly flowing air at room temperature.
Regionally, Asia-Pacific is the largest market, driven by China, India, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, where steel casting, forging, automotive parts, machinery, shipbuilding, rail transit and infrastructure manufacturing are concentrated. North America and Europe remain important high-value markets because of aerospace, defense, oil & gas, industrial machinery and precision automotive components, while Latin America and the Middle East mainly rely on energy, mining, construction equipment and infrastructure-related demand.
