Microfine Cement refers to a high-fineness hydraulic binder produced from Portland cement clinker, granulated blast-furnace slag, pozzolanic materials or composite cementitious constituents through ultrafine grinding, particle classification and formulation modification. It is designed primarily for permeation grouting, consolidation and water sealing in fine soils, fractured rock and microcracked concrete. Commercial products generally have a controlled particle-size distribution with a D95 of no more than approximately 20 μm; ultrafine and extreme-ultrafine grades can achieve D95 values below 10 μm or 5 μm. When mixed with water and selected dispersants, superplasticizers, accelerators or retarders, the material forms a stable, low-viscosity suspension capable of penetrating fine sand pores, narrow rock joints and small structural cracks under pressure. Microfine Cement combines the injectability of certain chemical grouts with the strength, dimensional stability, durability and comparatively low environmental impact of inorganic cementitious materials.

Microfine Cement remains substantially more expensive than ordinary Portland cement because ultrafine grinding requires specialized milling, classification equipment, higher energy consumption and stricter quality control.
