Microcellular Thermoplastic Polyurethane Foam (MTPU) is a foamed thermoplastic polyurethane material with a fine cellular structure distributed within a TPU matrix. From the upstream perspective, the core raw-material base of MTPU is TPU resin, and TPU itself is built from polyols, diisocyanates, and short-chain diols/chain extenders; depending on product design, the formulation may also involve foaming media or foaming packages as well as stabilizing and functional additives. From the downstream perspective, MTPU is mainly used in footwear midsoles and sole components, sports and protective cushioning parts, automotive interior and NVH components, wearables and flexible electronic carriers, and industrial cushioning / vibration-isolation / protective parts.
