They form excitation and receiving windings by arranging multiple layers of planar coils or PCB windings on the stator, and by changing the mutual inductance or impedance between the coils with the help of a metal target/conductive magnetic pattern on the rotor side. This converts the rotor angle into a sine/cosine induction signal, which is then calculated by internal AD and microstepping to obtain the absolute angle position or incremental pulse output. The advantages are that it is resistant to oil and dust, has no permanent magnets, has controlled temperature drift, and is suitable for high-precision angle measurement under harsh working conditions.

Manufacturing Process and Market Trends:
Inductive angle encoders are manufactured using PCB technology to create strictly symmetrical planar coils from the stator excitation and receiving windings and the rotor metal or copper pattern. After mounting the ASIC and connectors, controlling rotor-stator alignment and air gap uniformity, quadrature correction for amplitude and phase misalignment, harmonic/error mapping, and temperature compensation are used to lock in subdivision stability. Finally, protective potting and environmental screening are performed before delivery.
The global trend is driven by the need for reliable contactless solutions in environments with oil, dust, vibration, and stray magnetic fields. More and more scenarios are using it to replace optical solutions or directly replace solutions with magnets to avoid demagnetization and magnetic interference. At the same time, automotive-grade drive-by-wire control and high-speed motor feedback have made ISO 26262 redundant diagnostics and smaller, thinner integrated PCB target disk structures the mainstream.
