High Molecular Weight Waterborne Polyester Resins are polyester-based film-forming resins with relatively high molecular weight, designed to be dispersed, emulsified or diluted in water for use in low-VOC coating, ink, adhesive and surface-treatment systems. They are typically saturated or lightly modified copolyester resins, and their waterborne character is achieved through self-emulsifying structures, sulfonate groups, carboxylate neutralization, nonionic stabilization or external emulsification. Compared with solvent-borne polyester resins, they use water as the main carrier and are valued for adhesion, flexibility, gloss, hardness, chemical resistance, water resistance, film integrity and compatibility with crosslinkers.

As a result, this product is more likely to grow as a medium- to high-end functional waterborne resin rather than fully replacing general-purpose waterborne binders.
