Gas phase filtration is a filtration technology that removes harmful gaseous pollutants from air or process airflow through adsorption, chemical absorption, or catalytic reactions. It primarily targets VOCs, acid gases, alkaline gases, ozone, sulfides, nitrogen oxides, and other airborne molecular pollutants. Its core media typically include activated carbon, impregnated activated carbon, activated alumina, and composite chemical media. Common forms include flat-plate, box-type, cylindrical, and deep-bed filters. Unlike particulate filtration, GPR mainly addresses molecular-level contamination and corrosion control, and is widely used in commercial buildings, data centers, semiconductor cleanrooms, museums, wastewater treatment, and industrial exhaust gas treatment.
The upstream of the gas phase filtration industry chain mainly includes suppliers of activated carbon, impregnation agents, alumina, porous carriers, metal or plastic frames, and sealing materials; the midstream includes companies developing media formulations, manufacturing filter elements/filter boxes/deep-bed systems, testing and certification, and system integration; and the downstream covers industries such as HVAC, fresh air systems, data centers, electronics and semiconductors, life sciences, public buildings, wastewater treatment, chemicals, and energy.
