According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global Gallium Recycling market size was valued at US$ 56.72 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 118 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 8.7% during review period.
Gallium recycling refers to the collection, identification, characterization, pretreatment, separation, recovery, concentration, refining and purification of gallium-bearing secondary materials, and the conversion of the contained gallium into reusable products such as metallic gallium, gallium salts or high-purity gallium compounds for return to industrial production. Depending on the feedstock form and impurity profile, the recycling process may involve physical separation, dewatering, thermal treatment, leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction, electrowinning, chemical conversion and high-purity refining.
Typical feedstocks include GaAs crystal, ingot and wafer manufacturing scrap; GaN crystal and wafer waste; LED and laser-diode manufacturing residues; MOCVD and MBE process residues; cutting kerf, grinding swarf, polishing sludge and slurry; gallium-bearing etching and process solutions; gallium-containing sludge and filter cake; spent gallium-containing sputtering or evaporation targets; low-purity, oxidized or off-specification gallium; gallium-alloy scrap; gallium chloride and other gallium-compound production residues; and CIGS thin-film photovoltaic manufacturing scrap.
The scope excludes gallium recovered as an immediate by-product of the normal processing of primary ores or concentrates, including gallium recovered directly from Bayer-process alumina circulating liquor and from in-process residues, solutions, dusts or intermediates generated during the primary smelting or refining of aluminum, zinc, lead or other metals.
Market growth will be supported by expanding compound-semiconductor manufacturing, increasing demand for secure secondary gallium supply, wider adoption of closed-loop recycling systems and continued development of high-purity refining capacity. Asia-Pacific will remain the largest regional market because of its concentration of GaAs and GaN substrates, LEDs, displays, RF devices and electronic-material manufacturing, while North America is expected to record the fastest regional growth as local recovery and refining infrastructure expands.
The market will remain primarily driven by concentrated and traceable manufacturing scrap rather than end-of-life consumer products. Compound Semiconductor Substrate and Wafer Manufacturing Scrap will continue to represent the largest recycling source, while Epitaxy and Device Manufacturing Scrap is expected to gain share as downstream GaAs and GaN device production increases. Optoelectronics and RF will remain the largest application segment, whereas Power Devices will achieve the fastest growth. Competitive advantage will increasingly depend on long-term feedstock access, hazardous-material management, recovery yield, high-purity refining, customer qualification and the ability to operate closed-loop or toll-recycling programs.
