Key specification parameters include dielectric breakdown voltage, volume resistivity, thermal conductivity, thermal impedance, hardness, compressibility, resilience, thickness tolerance, flammability rating, operating temperature range, low volatility, low silicone oil bleed, puncture resistance and die-cut processability.
Electrically insulating silicone pads should not be treated as a generic silicone consumer product category. In industry practice, the relevant market is a functional materials segment positioned at the intersection of electrical insulation, thermal interface management, industrial gasketing and precision converting. The core value of these pads lies in creating a controlled, compliant and die-cuttable interface between energized components and metallic thermal or structural parts. In high-power electronics, the pad must prevent electrical shorting while reducing thermal impedance and compensating mechanical tolerances. Fiberglass reinforcement, polyimide composites and surface treatments are used to improve puncture resistance, tear resistance and insulation reliability.
