Gas Storage and Separation: COFs can be used for the adsorption and separation of gases (e.g., CO₂, CH₄, H₂) due to their high surface area and tunable pore sizes. Catalysis: COFs can serve as catalysts or supports for catalytic reactions due to their porous structure, which allows for the immobilization of active species. Sensors: Their specific interactions with certain chemicals make COFs suitable for use in sensors for detecting gases, pollutants, or biomolecules. Drug Delivery: COFs can encapsulate drug molecules, allowing for controlled release and targeting in medical applications. Energy Storage: Research is being conducted on the use of COFs in batteries and supercapacitors to enhance energy storage capabilities.
