According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global Center Pivot Sprinkler Systems market size was valued at US$ 2071 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 4564 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 11.1% during review period.
The center pivot sprinkler system is a mechanized and automated pressure sprinkler system designed for field agriculture. Its core feature is that a fixed pivot point in the center of the field serves as the water supply and rotation center. Several truss spans equipped with water delivery pipes are connected by a pulley-driven tower and rotate slowly around the central pivot point. During the movement, water is evenly applied to the crop and soil surface according to the design flow rate using nozzles, rotary sprayers, or low-pressure water application devices arranged along the pipes.
1) Water conservation, high efficiency, and low pressure will continue to be core technological directions. While past center-pivot systems primarily addressed the issue of "large-area automatic irrigation," future focus will be on agricultural output per unit volume of water. Sprinklers are increasingly evolving towards low pressure, near-surface application, and more precise water delivery methods. Technologies such as pressure regulators, low-pressure sprinklers, and LEPA reduce wind drift, evaporation losses, and surface runoff, while simultaneously lowering the energy required for pumping. The FAO has also clearly stated that, against the backdrop of increasingly scarce water resources, the management focus of irrigated agriculture is shifting from simply increasing land productivity to improving the output efficiency per unit of water resources.
2) Variable rate irrigation (VRI) is becoming a significant upgrade direction for high-end center-pivot systems. Traditional center-pivot systems typically employ a relatively uniform irrigation depth within a circular field, but actual farmland varies in soil type, slope, topography, drainage conditions, and crop growth. Modern VRI systems can divide the field into numerous management zones, adjusting the pivot speed or individually controlling sprinklers according to the needs of different zones. The focus of future industry competition will gradually shift from "whether the machine can operate" to "how much water should be applied per square meter."
3) Remote control, IoT, and digital agriculture are reshaping product value structures. Currently, mainstream manufacturers can remotely view the location, operating status, pump status, and irrigation progress of the central axis via mobile phones, tablets, or PCs, and can start, stop, adjust speed, and schedule irrigation. The next stage will further integrate satellite remote sensing, weather data, soil moisture, ET evapotranspiration models, crop growth models, and AI algorithms to form a closed loop of "perception-analysis-irrigation decision-making-automatic execution." Therefore, the added value of software and agricultural data services in the entire equipment will continue to increase.
4) The central axis is evolving from a single irrigation device into an integrated water, fertilizer, and pesticide agricultural operation platform. Utilizing water pipelines for fertilization and pesticide application allows for the simultaneous application of fertilizers and some agricultural inputs, improving application uniformity and reducing additional field work. Simultaneously, VRI (Vacuum-Insulated Refrigerant) can avoid watering ditches, wetlands, roads, or areas that do not require irrigation, thereby further improving water and fertilizer input efficiency. Therefore, in the future, competing products from equipment manufacturers will not only be the Pivot itself, but also whole-farm water resource management solutions that include pumping stations, flow control, fertilization systems, sensors, controllers, and digital agriculture software.
