Midstream battery cell manufacturers then use high-precision mixing and dispersion equipment to prepare the cathode slurry, which is subsequently coated onto aluminum foil current collectors, dried to remove solvent, and processed into cathode electrode sheets. Downstream, these electrodes are assembled into lithium-ion battery cells used in electric vehicles, consumer electronics, grid energy storage systems, and industrial batteries, making cathode slurry a critical intermediate material linking advanced battery chemistry production with large-scale battery cell manufacturing.
