The product is obtained through ethoxylation modification of butynediol and features both alkynol and ethoxylated structural characteristics. It is mainly used in nickel plating additive systems. Compared with butynediol itself, Butynediol Ethoxylate offers better dispersibility, compatibility and sustained performance in plating baths. It can refine nickel coating grain, improve coating brightness, enhance coating uniformity, and provide weak leveling and auxiliary brightening effects to a certain extent. It is a relatively common functional intermediate in bright nickel plating, semi-bright nickel plating and composite nickel plating additive formulation.
Its upstream raw material mainly includes butynediol, ethylene oxide, catalyst, solvent, refining auxiliary and packaging material. Key production requirements include control of the ethoxylation reaction, stability of active content, color control, moisture control and batch-to-batch consistency. Downstream, it is mainly used in long-life brightener, weak leveling agent, grain refiner, nickel plating auxiliary additive and a small amount of ferrous metal corrosion inhibitor. Terminal application covers electroplating processing fields such as automotive part, hardware product, electronic connector, sanitary ware and home appliance, and mechanical protective component. Overall, Butynediol Ethoxylate is not a final electroplating solution, but an important raw material used by nickel plating additive manufacturer to formulate brightener, leveling agent, grain refiner and auxiliary additive.
