From the demand side, blackbody radiation sources are "small but essential" basic metrology and calibration equipment. Globally, the strongest players are often infrared metrology instrument manufacturers, temperature metrology/calibration equipment manufacturers, and a few small and medium-sized enterprises specializing in radiation standard sources. These companies rely on long-term process accumulation (cavity design, temperature uniformity control, emissivity coating, long-term stability) and a robust metrological traceability system, making it difficult for "general instrument manufacturers" to easily encroach on their market share. In reality, many end-users are more concerned with: whether the source can cover their required temperature range (e.g., room temperature, medical body temperature range, high-temperature industrial areas), whether the radiation surface uniformity and emissivity have authoritative calibration certificates, and whether it can be easily integrated into automated calibration stations in laboratories/production lines.
