Automotive Cavity Baffle Foam Material is an automotive NVH and sealing material placed or injected into enclosed vehicle body cavities, where it forms a foam barrier through heat expansion during the paint-baking process or through a two-component chemical reaction. After expansion, the material conforms to irregular cavities in A-pillars, B-pillars, C-pillars, rocker panels, and longitudinal and cross members, thereby restricting airflow and interrupting noise transmission. It also provides water resistance, dust sealing, thermal insulation, and vibration damping.
The upstream supply chain mainly includes EVA, synthetic rubber, polyether polyols, isocyanates, blowing agents, crosslinking agents, tackifying resins, fillers, and nylon carriers. The midstream segment consists of automotive NVH material and cavity baffle manufacturers responsible for formulation development, molding, carrier integration, injection-system design, and vehicle-level performance validation. Downstream customers mainly include vehicle manufacturers and suppliers of body, interior and exterior trim, and NVH components. The products are primarily used in passenger and commercial vehicle body-in-white manufacturing and are custom-developed according to vehicle structure, cavity configuration, and acoustic performance requirements.
