It works by oxidizing the pollutants in the exhaust air stream at high temperatures, typically between 815°C to 980°C (1500°F to 1800°F), converting them into carbon dioxide and water vapor. The RTO is called "regenerative" because it uses a heat exchanger to recover and reuse the heat generated during the oxidation process, making it a more energy-efficient solution.
