Aliphatic Triglycidylamine (ATGA) is a class of low-viscosity, multifunctional epoxy resins derived from aliphatic amines (such as triethylenetetramine or similar structures) that are reacted with epichlorohydrin to introduce three glycidyl (epoxy) functional groups. Compared with aromatic glycidyl amine resins, ATGA offers better flexibility, lower viscosity, improved UV resistance, and reduced color formation, making it suitable for coatings, adhesives, composites, and electronic encapsulation where toughness and weatherability are required. The supply chain starts upstream with petrochemical feedstocks (propylene → epichlorohydrin, and aliphatic amines from ammonia and alcohol derivatives), followed by midstream synthesis where chemical manufacturers perform glycidylation reactions, purification, and formulation into epoxy systems. Downstream, ATGA is supplied to formulators and compounders who blend it with curing agents (amines, anhydrides), additives, and fillers to produce end-use products such as industrial coatings, aerospace composites, electrical insulation materials, and adhesives, which are ultimately used across sectors like construction, automotive, electronics, and energy. In 2025, global Aliphatic Triglycidylamine output was about 60,000 tons with 80,000 tons of capacity, average prices of USD 4,000–7,000 per ton, and gross margins around 27%.
