Aldolase is a lyase product family that catalyzes aldol cleavage and condensation reactions in carbohydrate metabolism. Native Aldolase is mainly present in muscle, liver, and brain tissues. Commercial products may be supplied as lyophilized powder, ammonium sulfate suspension, clear colorless buffered solution, microplate assay kit, or pre-coated antibody reagent. Their core components include enzyme protein, specific antibodies, substrates, buffers, colorimetric or chemiluminescent detection reagents, calibrators, and controls. The protein is typically a tetramer composed of approximately 40 kDa subunits, and the isoenzymes are encoded by different genes with distinct tissue-expression profiles. Its functional principle is the reversible cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate into glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate, or the reverse formation of carbon-carbon bonds. Therefore, Aldolase is a fundamental target in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis research and an auxiliary tool for studying muscle injury, liver-related abnormalities, hereditary fructose metabolism disorders, and neural tissue localization. Production requirements focus on recombinant expression, purification, conformational retention, enzyme-activity stability, antibody specificity validation, lot-to-lot consistency, and low-background assay-system development. Common manufacturing routes include bacterial expression, mammalian expression, animal immunization, monoclonal or recombinant antibody platforms, chromatographic purification, and lyophilization stabilization. Commercial applications cover life science research, proteomics experiments, enzyme activity analysis, auxiliary clinical chemistry testing, and biocatalysis development.
Metabolic reprogramming, cancer energy metabolism, muscle disorders, liver-related abnormalities, and neural tissue localization research are supporting steady demand for Aldolase-related research reagents.
