Upstream includes compound semiconductor substrates, silicon photonics wafers, epitaxy services, specialty chemicals, precision photomasks, and fabrication equipment such as lithography, etch, deposition and test systems; midstream covers laser and modulator chip design, epitaxial growth, waveguide and grating fabrication, modulator integration, high-speed electrode formation, chip packaging and optical engine assembly; downstream involves optical transceiver and coherent module manufacturing, system integration into switches, routers and transport platforms, and final deployment by cloud data centers, telecom carriers, government networks, and advanced sensing and microwave photonics users.
Current and planned projects include new InP and silicon photonics fab capacity for high-speed modulated lasers, expansion of 100G-plus per lane EML and external modulator product lines, development of co-packaged optics light engines for AI clusters, pilot lines for thin-film lithium niobate and polymer modulators, heterogeneous III-V on silicon integration programs, advanced automated optical assembly plants, coherent pluggable module platforms for 800G and 1.6T systems, and regional supply chain localization projects covering substrates, epitaxy, packaging, and high-frequency test infrastructure.
