The manufacturing of walk-in salt spray chambers uses a load-bearing steel frame as the base, covered with corrosion-resistant inner liner panels. Mainstream designs use PP or PVC panels, hot-air welded together with rounded transitions. High-end solutions use mirror-finished stainless steel with argon arc welding or laser welding for sealing. The outer liner is covered with A3 steel powder-coated material and filled with polyurethane foam for insulation. The top plate is angled at 110 degrees to allow condensate to flow back along the walls without dripping. A door with three fluororubber stepped seals and an observation window are then embedded. Internally, a tower-type sprayer with multiple branches for salt water supply and a saturated air tank is installed. Heating is typically achieved using titanium pipe water tanks for temperature equalization or indirect steam heat exchange. After the air circulation and drainage systems are completed, the entire machine undergoes salt spray uniformity and leakage calibration before delivery.
Market demand is driven by the verification of sealed battery packs for electric vehicles, high-reliability components for aerospace, and export compliance. Equipment is evolving from static salt spray to salt spray, wet heat, and drying cycle corrosion and multi-field coupling in parallel. The control end is accelerating towards IoT remote monitoring, auditing, traceability, and data-driven corrosion life prediction.
