    An underground feeder breaker is an integrated feeding and crushing machine designed for continuous underground mining and material handling operations. It typically consists of a receiving section, heavy-duty chain or flight conveyor, low-speed high-torque breaker roll, drive system, frame, and control system. The equipment receives run-of-mine material discharged from shuttle cars, load-haul-dump equipment, or other underground haulage equipment, buffers and continuously feeds the material through the conveying system, and reduces oversized material with a horizontally arranged breaker roll to a size suitable for downstream conveying before discharging it steadily to the next-stage conveyor system. Compared with separate feeder and crusher installations, its key advantage is the integration of material receiving, feeding, size reduction, and transfer into a single low-profile and compact machine. This design is well suited to confined underground environments, continuous-duty operation, and high-impact loading, while also helping reduce the risk of belt blockage, impact damage, and belt tearing caused by oversized material.
    From an industry chain perspective, upstream inputs for underground feeder breakers mainly include wear-resistant steel, structural steel, chain and flight assemblies, breaker rolls and picks, gear reducers, motors, hydraulic systems, electrical control systems, and explosion-proof electrical components. Among these, heavy-duty transmission components, wear parts, and mine-rated explosion-proof systems are particularly important to equipment reliability and service life. Downstream demand primarily comes from underground coal mines and non-coal underground mines. The equipment is typically installed near production faces or at underground material transfer points, where it operates together with continuous miners, shuttle cars, load-haul-dump equipment, and belt conveyors to form an integrated continuous material handling system.
