Downstream, it is mainly consumed in pharmaceutical synthesis, agrochemicals, and high-value specialty chemicals, where strong, selective oxidation is required. The market is characterized by limited large-scale producers, with most supply handled by specialty chemical manufacturers or produced on-demand at the point of use due to its hazardous nature.
