    For railway transformers, high-permeability cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets are first cut by a CNC shearing line, then automatically stacked and bound at a 45-degree angled stepped overlap to form a low-loss, low-noise core. Next, in a clean room, high and low voltage windings are wound with oxygen-free copper wire or copper foil, and heat-resistant insulation such as Nomex or DMD is layered in between. The entire winding assembly is then dehydrated in a vacuum chamber, followed by vacuum pressure impregnation or solvent-free resin casting and stepped curing to form a rigid whole. Afterward, the core is assembled, clamped, and positioned in a barrel-type or bell-type oil tank. Following vacuum drying and degassing, qualified mineral oil or natural ester insulating liquid is injected, and multiple sealing processes are performed, including stop and limit sealing, fluorescence testing, and positive and negative pressure leak detection. Finally, each transformer undergoes comprehensive quality control, including turns ratio, DC resistance, insulation, power frequency withstand voltage, sudden short circuit, temperature rise, and partial discharge testing.
    The electrification of high-speed rail, urban rail, and freight continues to lengthen the demand curve. Traction transformers themselves are moving towards both lightweight and compact design for vehicle use and high short-circuit strength and long lifespan at the station end. Insulation media are gradually shifting from mineral oil to flame-retardant ester or dry-type solutions to meet tunnel fire protection and environmental regulations.
