Aerospace companies and titanium producers increasingly prefer remelting scrap—such as Ti-6Al-4V—of the same grade and origin with low contamination levels into aerospace-grade feedstock; this approach reduces reliance on titanium sponge, shortens supply chains, and lowers carbon emissions.
