From the upstream perspective, the core raw-material base is PMMA resin, and PMMA itself is derived from methyl methacrylate (MMA). Depending on the product design, the formulation may additionally use standard or impact-modified PMMA grades, polymer blend partners such as PLA, TPU, or PVDF, and functional fillers/additives such as silica, sepiolite, TiO₂, graphene nanoplatelets, or silicon carbide to tune foaming behavior, pore structure, toughness, and thermal performance. From the downstream perspective, the most relevant directions are thermal insulation materials and vacuum insulation panel (VIP) core materials, lightweight structural/core materials, optical and light-management porous materials, filtration / separation / adsorption porous media, and biomedical scaffolds or drug-delivery porous platforms.
