Schmidt prisms are precision reflective optical prisms designed to fold an optical path, control image orientation, and enable compact optical layouts in direct-view and imaging instruments. When combined with a half-penta / Pechan configuration, it forms a Schmidt–Pechan prism assembly capable of inline 180-degree image rotation while maintaining a compact coaxial optical train. The product family is used in binoculars, spotting scopes, eyepiece assemblies, microscopes, endoscopes, surveying instruments, industrial imaging systems, and defense optics.
