Its supply chain begins with upstream petrochemical or bio-based monomers (e.g., isocyanates, epoxies, formaldehyde derivatives), followed by midstream polymerization and gelation processes to form wet gels, then advanced drying techniques such as supercritical drying or ambient pressure drying to create aerogel structures, often combined with reinforcement (fibers, foams, or composites) to improve strength and flexibility. Downstream, the material is processed into panels, blankets, or molded foam components and supplied to end-use industries including aerospace, electric vehicles, construction insulation, oil & gas pipelines, and high-performance electronics, where lightweight and high-efficiency thermal management are critical.
