In the midstream, products are manufactured into enzyme powder, immobilized enzyme, or whole-cell catalyst through strain construction, fermentation expression, cell disruption, separation and purification, concentration, lyophilization, or immobilization processes. Downstream applications are mainly concentrated in pharmaceutical intermediate, fine chemical, chiral synthesis, and enzyme drug development.
