      An optical encoder is a type of encoder that uses a sensor to identify position change as light passes through a patterned encoder wheel or disk.
      For many years, optical encoders have been the traditional choice for motion control. Optical encoders use line-of-sight sensing to create signals. It works when a light source splits into two 90-degree out-of-phase beams that pass through transparent, evenly spaced windows in a rotating optical disk.
      Optical encoders downstream is wide and the main application fields are healthcare, machine tool, consumer electronics, assembly equipment and other. Globally, assembly equipment accounts for nearly 25.49% of total downstream consumption of optical encoders in global.
      According to the type, it can be divided into two kinds, incremental optical encoders and absolute optical encoders. Incremental optical encoders are the main product, capturing about 67.82% of global consumption of optical encoders in 2017.
