According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global Onshore Oil & Gas Flexible Pipe market size was valued at US$ 1210 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 1738 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 5.4% during review period.
Onshore oil & gas flexible pipe refers to spoolable flexible composite pipe systems used for onshore oilfield gathering, water injection, produced-water reinjection, gas transport, CO₂ service and pipeline rehabilitation. They typically consist of a thermoplastic liner, fiber or steel reinforcement layers, outer cover and end fittings. Key advantages include corrosion resistance, fast installation, reduced welding and long continuous laying, making them suitable alternatives to selected steel, fiberglass and conventional oilfield flowlines.
The upstream supply chain includes HDPE, PEX, PA, PVDF and other thermoplastic liners, glass fiber, aramid, carbon fiber, polyester fiber or high-strength steel wire reinforcement, outer jacket materials, bonding layers, end fittings, flanges, crimp fittings, seals and reel-handling equipment. Downstream demand comes from onshore oilfields, shale oil and gas, tight gas, coalbed methane, oil sands, water injection, produced-water disposal, CO₂ reinjection and steel-pipe rehabilitation.
In 2025, global onshore oil & gas flexible pipe production reached approximately 3,000 km, with an average global market price is $300 per meter.
From a global industry perspective, onshore oil and gas flexible pipe has evolved from a supplementary alternative to steel pipe into an important pipeline solution for cost reduction, corrosion resistance and fast deployment in onshore fields. Its core value lies in combining polymer liners, steel or non-metallic reinforcement layers, outer covers and dedicated end fittings to provide corrosion resistance, flexibility, spoolable transportation, reduced welding and better adaptability to complex terrain. It is particularly suitable for produced water, water injection, CO₂/H₂S corrosive environments, low- to medium/high-pressure gathering, aging-pipeline replacement and rapid development of marginal well sites. API Spec 15S provides manufacturing and qualification requirements for spoolable reinforced plastic line pipe used in oilfield and energy applications, including transport of multiphase fluids, hydrocarbon gases, hydrocarbon liquids, oilfield production chemicals and nonpotable water, and identifies such line pipe as spoolable for storage, transportation and installation.
In terms of industry trends, onshore oil and gas flexible pipe is moving toward higher pressure capability, corrosion resistance, spoolability, faster installation, longer service life, lower maintenance and digital integrity management. Conventional onshore steel pipelines face limitations related to corrosion, welding, construction lead time, leakage repair and adaptability to difficult terrain, while flexible composite and reinforced thermoplastic pipes can reduce weld count through long continuous reels, shorten installation windows and lower corrosion-protection and maintenance burdens. In material design, thermoplastic liners improve media compatibility and corrosion resistance; steel wire or aramid, glass-fiber and carbon-fiber reinforcement layers carry pressure and tensile loads; and outer covers provide mechanical and environmental protection. DNV also notes that RTP and TCP technologies are challenging conventional steel pipe by offering lightweight, ductile, spoolable and corrosion-free solutions for liquid and gas transport. However, wider adoption still requires qualification of long-term internal pressure strength, end-fitting reliability, rapid gas decompression resistance, temperature-pressure operating envelopes, UV or mechanical damage resistance, permeation control and field connection quality.
The main growth drivers come from three areas. First, onshore oilfields continue to require gathering, water injection, produced-water handling and aging-line replacement, while corrosion failures and leakage risks push operators toward more corrosion-resistant and lower-maintenance flexible pipeline solutions. Second, shale oil and gas, marginal wells, distributed well pads and temporary production facilities require pipelines that can be installed quickly, relocated more easily and routed through complex terrain, giving flexible pipes advantages in reduced welding, shorter construction time and lower installation cost. Third, operators increasingly focus on lifecycle cost, safety, environmental compliance and production-loss control, shifting pipeline selection from material-price comparison toward a broader evaluation of installation efficiency, corrosion life, maintenance frequency, leakage risk and integrity-management capability.
