Nylon elastomers are a class of thermoplastic elastomer materials with polyamide segments as hard segments and polyether or polyester segments as soft segments. Upstream raw material costs are significantly affected by the prices of PA12, PA11, long-chain dicarboxylic acids, and polyethers. High-end products also rely on polymerization control, molecular weight distribution, block ratios, and stabilizer systems. Downstream applications include footwear, medical, electronics, automotive, sporting goods, and industrial components.
