Midstream enterprises employ processes including esterification, alkylation, oxidation, rectification/purification, and formulation to control parameters such as acid value, moisture content, phosphorus content, metal impurities, viscosity, and phase separation performance. Downstream applications primarily span nuclear fuel processing, rare earth elements, uranium, copper, cobalt, nickel, zirconium-hafnium, the phosphorus chemical industry, and the treatment of spent batteries and industrial waste liquids.
    In 2025, global sales volume is projected to be approximately 28,000 metric tons at an average price of around US$4,800 per ton, with major industry players achieving gross profit margins of approximately 22%–38%.
