Demand for low-dielectric solder mask ink is driven by the continued outward migration of high-speed signal links. AI servers, switches, 5G base stations, millimeter-wave radar, and high-end HDI boards are more sensitive to outer-layer trace loss. The solder mask layer is no longer only a protective material, but also a key auxiliary material affecting impedance, insertion loss, and yield.
On the supply side, the market is still dominated by Japanese, European/U.S., and Taiwanese manufacturers. Taiyo Ink, Huntsman, Tamura, Eternal Materials, and others have customer certification advantages in high-reliability and high-frequency products, while Chinese companies are accelerating substitution through communication boards, automotive boards, and LDI solder mask systems.
