Hydrophobic polyether polyol is a specialty reactive polyol used in polyurethane systems. Its molecular structure is mainly composed of polyether segments and contains two or more hydroxyl groups, which can react with isocyanates to form polyurethane materials. Compared with conventional polyether polyol, hydrophobic polyether polyol places greater emphasis on low water absorption, hydrolysis resistance, heat and humidity resistance, and long-term water stability. These properties are usually achieved by increasing the proportion of relatively hydrophobic alkylene oxide segments such as PO and BO, reducing the content of hydrophilic EO segments, or introducing special hydrophobic modification structures.
Hydrophobic polyether polyol is mainly used in polyurethane materials that require high water resistance and heat-humidity stability, including polyurethane waterproof coating, adhesive and sealant, polyurethane elastomer, electronic potting material, and water-resistant polyurethane prepolymer. Its function is to improve the water resistance, heat-humidity resistance, flexibility, low-temperature performance, and interfacial bonding stability of polyurethane systems. It is suitable for applications such as building waterproofing, industrial sealing, electronic encapsulation, elastomer products, and high-durability polyurethane CASE materials.
