Key performance requirements include low dielectric constant, low dissipation factor, high heat resistance, low moisture absorption, low CTE, strong adhesion to copper foil and glass fabric, and stable lot-to-lot consistency. Under the scope of resins for high-end PCB and packaging substrates, global production reached approximately 85 K MT in 2025.
    High-frequency and high-speed electronic resins are being driven first by the rapid upgrade of computing and communication infrastructure. AI servers, high-speed switches, optical communication modules, 5G/6G base stations and data-center interconnects all require PCBs and package substrates with higher layer counts, finer lines, faster SerDes transmission and lower signal loss. As transmission rates move from 25G/56G toward 112G and 224G channels, conventional FR-4 systems face greater dielectric loss and signal integrity pressure, creating stronger demand for low-Dk and low-Df resin systems such as modified epoxy, PPE/PPO, PTFE, hydrocarbon resin, LCP and polyimide-based materials.
