Gasoline engine aluminum pistons are aluminum alloy pistons used in gasoline internal combustion engines. They are typically made from cast or forged Al-Si alloys and work with piston rings, piston pins, connecting rods, and cylinders to convert combustion pressure into crankshaft power. Compared with diesel pistons, gasoline engine aluminum pistons usually operate under lower peak pressure but higher engine speed, requiring lightweight design, low friction, dimensional stability, thermal-fatigue resistance, skirt coating, and optimized combustion-bowl geometry. They are widely used in passenger cars, SUVs, light commercial vehicles, hybrid gasoline engines, and high-performance turbocharged gasoline engines.
The upstream supply chain includes primary/recycled aluminum, Al-Si alloy ingots, coating materials, graphite/molybdenum-disulfide solid lubricants, moulds, casting equipment, forging equipment, heat-treatment equipment, and precision machining systems. Downstream customers include engine plants, OEMs, powertrain Tier 1 suppliers, the aftermarket, and performance/racing channels.

The global gasoline engine aluminum pistons industry is a mature segment of the internal combustion engine supply chain, mainly serving passenger-car gasoline engines, hybrid-dedicated engines, range-extender engines, light commercial gasoline engines and selected high-performance engines. Gasoline engines are spark-ignited internal combustion engines, where the air-fuel mixture is ignited by a spark plug; therefore, pistons must operate under high combustion temperature, high-speed reciprocating motion, knock risk, side-load friction and thermal-fatigue conditions.
